The Data Quality Control Team plays a key role in guiding the data quality control methods for the Bureau's high quality data sets. A major focus is preserving the quality and integrity of the data in the Bureau's Climate database, using a variety of manual and automatic techniques and processes. The Data Quality Control team sits within the Data Governance section of the Data Program (in the Data and Digital Group).
The primary role of the Quality Control Coordinator is to oversee the day-to-day activities of the Data Quality Control Officers, and Digitisation and Data Entry Officers to meet prescribed standards and established customer needs. The Quality Control Coordinator role will provide training and guidance on the team's digitisation and quality control processes. They will solve or escalate issues that impact delivery to KPIs or projects.
- Understanding of Australian climate factors and/or meteorological observing equipment and procedures
- Proven ability to work in and lead a small technical team
- Excellent problem-solving skills and sound judgement
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Experience in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), systems testing, software development, statistics or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
