**The Role**

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll team in this newly created role. As a Payroll Manager you will oversee the operations of the payroll team, ensure all Award and legislative requirements are complied with and be experienced in reviewing and establishing processes and systems to ensure compliance and efficiency.

The role is therefore diverse in its range of tasks and responsibilities and is not limited by the duties detailed in this position description. The position requires someone who is focussed on providing good internal customer service, is highly organised with the ability to assess the urgency of work allocated and/or situations and prioritise the workload accordingly for them and their direct reports.

The Payroll Manager, has a direct reporting line to the Finance Manager who will provide support, mentoring and directions as requested or required. You will also work directly with and manage your own payroll reports.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Supervise and lead the payroll team, providing guidance, training and support to ensure team members perform their duties effectively and efficiently
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback to ensure individual and team goals are met
- Accountable for the coordination and management of the end-to-end payroll process ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Review and embed best in class processes and procedures that will ensure rigid timelines are in place and met and that appropriate checks and balances are in place to guarantee the accuracy of deliverables
- Interact and collaborate with various individuals and groups within and outside the organisation to ensure smooth payroll operations and compliance. Stakeholders include People & Culture, Finance, Operations, Park & Adelaide Office Management, IT Department, Government Agencies and Third-Party Service Providers
- Generate and distribute regular payroll reports to relevant departments, management and stakeholders
- Liaise with the IT department to ensure the payroll system software is up-to-date and functioning effectively. Be involved with the transition and integration of new systems should the business invest in doing so

**Your Experience**
- Proven experience as a Payroll Manager in a medium/large organisation with 1,500+ employees
- Minimum 5 years management experience in a role with responsibility for a national payroll covering multiple sites and multiple awards and agreements
- Demonstrated understanding of payroll laws, regulations and best practices
- Proficiency in payroll and time & attendance software. Experience with Micropay and Tanda desirable, but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including intermediate level Excel skills)
- Industry experience desirable, but not required (e.g. exposure to Hospitality Industry General Award)
