Purpose of Role:
We are looking for a motivated Sales Manager with a demonstrated history of successfully selling mining equipment in the Goldfields region.
Support the Weir Minerals business through the effective leadership and management of the Goldfields region, by implementing strategic business objectives and performance measures as defined by the General Manager.
This role will support in the areas of sales and strategy to maintain, develop new multilevel relations with customers in the mining and minerals processing industries as the leader in our product sales team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and in develop opportunities for short and long term growth consistent with overall business unit strategies in the respective territory and work with relevant employees to develop plans and capitalize on these opportunities
- Implement programs to sustain and increase our current market share in core markets
- Propose and initiate new business activities in conjunction with the General Manager
- Prepare, present and successfully implement annual business plans
- Identify opportunities to increase business revenue for existing customers activities associated with the Weir business
- Plan, oversee and execute sales and marketing strategies, objectives, and programs consistent with the overall direction of the business, division and group
- Supervise, train and enhance the effectiveness of Area Managers
- Develop and implement a training program to ensure ongoing staff training is carried out to improve business, interpersonal and technical skills for all customer support team
- Evaluate performance of all direct reports on a regular basis to ensure compliance with, and support for, strategies, objectives and policies of the company
- Enhance the profitability of the company through appropriate improvement programs in margin and overhead management
- Participate in and, where appropriate, lead cross functional lean based business improvement programs
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Sales experience in the minerals processing industry, and/or tertiary qualifications in engineering or trade would be highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with a commercial and customer focus
- Experience leading sales teams in the field
- Valid Driver’s License
- Warman Pump and/or non Warman aftermarket pump experience desirable
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to liaise with stakeholders of all levels in the office and on site
