**The Opportunity**:

CSIRO Verification Services provides an independent certification process for the materials and infrastructure industries, operating accreditation and certification schemes for paints and coating products, painting and coatings contractors and fire detection and suppression systems.

The Australian Paint Approval Scheme (APAS) is an independent third-party conformity and product prequalification scheme that tests and certifies all types of paint, surface coating materials and associated products.

The** APAS Executive Officer** will work within the Infrastructure Technologies' Verification Services team to fulfil duties primarily within the Australian Paint Approval Scheme (APAS) and provide support to the Painting Contractor Certification Program (PCCP).

Your role will involve administrative and operational support of the APAS scheme, provision of technical guidance and enacting auditing duties at customer sites.

**Your duties will include**:

- Fulfilling the duties of executive officer for the APAS scheme, as detailed in document AP-D001 (which can be found here: AP-D001 Document).
- In particular the interrogation and certification of a wide range of paint, protective coating and waterproofing products, and the accreditation of the Registered Manufacturing Units.
- Supporting the role of executive officer of the PCCP scheme.
- Being responsible for the implementation of the rules governing the certification scheme and for their content.
- Coordinating maintenance and revisions of the document sets underpinning the schemes as detailed in AP-D001.
- Coordinating field audit and desk top services to support the APAS and PPCP schemes, providing audit services as required by the Audit Program manager.
- Providing administrative management to the schemes, coordinating with relevant staff for commercial contracting and invoicing.
- Convening and chairing technical committee meetings for APAS Scheme.
- Adapting and/or developing methods/software/concepts/ ideas in support of existing and further verification services products, procedures and opportunities.
- Communicating scheme adaptions and additions, and service results.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues within your team, the business unit and across CSIRO, to reach objectives.

**Salary**:AU$105,806 - AU$114,500 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

Essential:

- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to anticipate the interests and knowledge level of an audience and present information and feedback accordingly.
- Report writing skills.
- A history of professional and respectful behaviours and attitudes in a collaborative environment.
- The ability to effectively manage several competing priorities simultaneously and carry out non-routine tasks under limited direction.
- Proven ability to investigate underlying issues of complex and ill-defined problems and develop appropriate responses by adapting/creating and testing alternative solutions.
- Ability to perform in an independent and self-directed work environment to achieve strategic and financial goals.

Desirable:

- Recognised competency in lead auditing, e.g. Diploma of Quality Auditing
