**The opportunity**

ASIO is seeking experienced and passionate procurement officers to fill positions for a Director and Assistant Director of Procurement at the AEE1 and AEE2 levels. Procurement Managers employ a range of skills, including strategic thinking, negotiation, decision making, financial management and conflict resolution to ensure that relevant money expended on behalf of ASIO are done so in accordance with Commonwealth legislation and Organisational policies.

A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.

**Role responsibilities**

As a Procurement Manager at ASIO, you will:

- Use your experience working in either a procurement or contract administrator role to provide practical procurement and contract advice and support to clients.
- Represent ASIO at various internal and government forums.
- Prepare a range of written material including Senate Estimate Submissions, compliance reporting and organisational briefs.
- Maintain ASIO's procurement and contact management frameworks.
- Proactively drive and implement change and continuous improvement processes.
- Review procurements and contract related to ensure they are aligned with commonwealth's procurement rules and ASIO's frameworks and objectives.
- Review written material including reports, contracts and procurement documentation.
- Drive the delivery of procurement and contract management training to internal staff.
- Provide guidance, leadership, mentoring, support and development opportunities.
- Lead by example by promoting and implementing ASIO's Values and business partnering culture.
- Undertake other duties as directed.

**What you will bring**
- Experience in procurement and/or contract management.
- The ability to manage workloads and priorities to meet organisational objectives.
- The ability to exercise sound and independent judgement.
- Strong communication, networking, representational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- The ability to prepare high quality written work aligned with business objectives and regulation, including policy and management frameworks.
- High level strategic skills, with a successful record of delivering high level procurement activities.
- The ability to prioritise and remain flexible and adaptive in a high-volume and fast paced environment.
- The ability to lead and develop a team.
- A strong client service focus with the ability to adapt to varying client requirements.
- Working knowledge of the PGPA Act 2013 and Commonwealth Procurement Rules or the ability to gain this knowledge quickly.
- A certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting or equivalent on commencement or shortly thereafter.

- An Australian citizen.
