**The Role**:
AARNet is seeking an enthusiastic & dedicated Field Supervisor to oversee the construction of Optical Fibre and Telecommunication civil works projects across VIC and NSW.
You will be comfortable representing AARNet in a professional manner on sites and engaging with contractors to ensure the construction work will meet the needs of our customers. Your attention to detail and commitment to project outcomes will support the daily management of your projects delivering services to our schools, universities, health and research centres.
The role will require regular and consistent multi-night travel to various regional areas within Victoria and New South Wales. Your flexible, can-do attitude will enable you to excel as Field Supervisor. If you, an Ipad, and the beautiful Australian landscape sounds good, we want to talk to you.

- Appropriate vehicle could form part of your tools of trade and remuneration package.
**Responsibilities**:
As a member of the Construction Field Team within the Infrastructure Development Group, you will direct and support the field operations of construction suppliers. You’ll liaise and coordinate with construction site staff to supervise the delivery of our civil construction projects.
You will engage your strong interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills as a point of contact for customers, stakeholders & suppliers. Maintaining positive and productive working relationships to manage the expectations of land owners, local councils and utilities is also a focus for project delivery.
Your previous field experience, construction knowledge and technical expertise will empower you to identify, plan and implement resolutions for construction site problems & issues that arise during project delivery. On site, your commitment to the correct outcome and ability to communicate directly will ensure a productive, safe environment that delivers the required project outcomes
You will monitor, control and inspect construction work for projects in flight as well as perform design and survey functions, working closing with project designers.
**Expertise, experience & qualifications**:
- Australian Citizen and the have ability to obtain a Security Clearance
- Valid Australian Drivers License
- You have excellent communication skills and are comfortable negotiating and resolving issues with stakeholders on site
- You have a robust understanding of construction methodologies
- You have good interpersonal skills and will enjoy working collaboratively with the Infrastructure Group and civils team
- You have a Construction Induction (White Card) or are happy to obtain
- You have experience supervising regional construction routes in the Telecommunications industry. Experience with similar underground construction projects such as Powerlines or Pipelines will be considered.
