**About the role**

The role will primarily provide HSE advice and support to the Victorian Operations Manager and Contract Managers in driving improvements in HSE performance through alignment and delivery of programs, identification and management of HSE risks. The position also provides functional support to the Fuels & Energy East HSE Operations Manager, the site based HSE teams to help maintain a safe and healthy workplace and for adherence to company policies and applicable laws, regulations and standards for the workplace. Ensures practices adopted reflect a commitment to the highest standard.

**About You**

- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in similar role ideally within Oil & Gas industry
- Offshore experience desirable but not essential
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent industry experience
- Lead ICAM incident and Investigation training
- Lead Auditor
- Demonstrated capability to develop and implement HSE management systems.
- Experience in leading incident investigations.
- Experience in developing and leading training and presentations to small and large groups.
- Strong computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office).

**Key responsibility areas**
- Provide HSE functional guidance and support to the Contract Operations and HSE teams including delivery of HSE Improvement plans.
- Deliver services largely tactical in nature with day to day direction determined by business needs
- Provide support to the Fuels & Energy East HSE Operations Manager in actively promoting and supporting the implementation of the UGL HSE Management System in compliance with relevant HSE legislation.
- Provide support with, Conduct and facilitate incident investigations
- Track synergy incidents and actions and support the contracts teams in ensuring all are closed out in a timely manner.
- Partner with Operations / Contract / Project / Corporate / Client Management to deliver HSE initiatives that are relevant to the contract, client and/or location.
- Provide site HSE coverage for annual leave in various working environments and in multiple locations across the UGL Business.
- Lead & assist with audits both internal and external including ISO recertification audits
- Provide advice to ensure compliance with UGL’s accreditation for:

- AS/NZS4801 - Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.
- ISO 14001 - Environmental Management Systems; and
- ISO 9001 - Quality Management Systems.
- Develop strong working relationships with the Client HSE Management teams
- Undertake any adhoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Contracts Operations Manager or Fuels & Energy East HSE Operations Manager
- Support the UGL tendering process and client engagement in relation to project reviews
- Manage the implementation of return-to-work programs and procedures to ensure that all injuries are managed according to Company and legislative requirements
- Provide guidance and support in the development and review of the site-specific Health, Safety and Environmental Management plans.
- Provide support and guidance to the operations teams in developing HSE improvement plans that align with the Fuels & Energy East and corporate HSE strategy
