We are seeking a Coordinator, Net Zero Emissions to join our team at CSIRO Working within our Sustainability Team, you'll be pivotal in spearheading CSIRO's net zero emissions strategy and implementation, driving transformative sustainability projects.
As an experienced sustainability professional, your expertise in carbon emission reduction strategies and implementation will be instrumental in achieving CSIRO's ambitious sustainability goals. Ideally, you possess an engineering background, enabling you to navigate the technical aspects of our net zero emissions strategy with ease.
Collaboration will be key, as you work closely with our dedicated Sustainability Team members, CSIRO's facility teams, and research business units. Together, you will deliver tangible outcomes that propel CSIRO towards a future of sustainable practices and net zero emissions.
**Your duties will include**:
- Manage and enhance CSIRO's net zero emissions (NZE) strategy and implementation plan in alignment with CSIRO’s NZE goals
- Research innovative and emerging solutions to drive carbon emission reductions across the organization and work with stakeholders to implement agreed solutions.
- Coordinate, either directly or through delivery teams, the implementation of emission reduction projects, such as renewable energy, energy storage, energy efficiency, electrification, low emission vehicles projects.
- Work collaboratively as part of a regionally dispersed sustainability team to champion and support CSIRO’s sustainability and NZE goals
- Work with internal stakeholders to incorporate CSIRO’s Net Zero Emission ambitions and targets into relevant business processes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful NZE project delivery, including project planning, budgeting, and reporting.
- Provide technical expertise and advice to the Sustainability Team and broader CSIRO community on emission reduction and broader sustainability issues.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in carbon emission-related legislation, sustainability technology and advise on the adoption of new technologies.
- Adhere to the spirit and practice of CSIRO’s Values, Code of Conduct, Health, Safety and Environment procedures and policy and diversity initiatives.

**Salary**:AU$105,806 - AU$114,500 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

**To be considered you will need**:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, sustainability or related field, or equivalent related work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the successful development and implementation of strategically focussed carbon emission reduction solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in project planning, management and delivery of technical projects.
- Strong analysis skills in the evaluation of alternatives/options, including the ability to develop business cases
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence with impact across multiple functional groups and across all levels
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build relationships across a broad range of stakeholders and work with others to achieve outcomes and inspire change
Desirable:
- Sound knowledge of carbon accounting principles and carbon offsetting strategies
- Sound knowledge of climate risk management principles
- Knowledge/experience in emerging low emission technologies such as green hydrogen
