Job Description

Contribute to climate risk management and sustainability reporting by leading the implementation and ongoing enhancement of our framework in alignment with Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards.

The role supports our commitment to net zero by 2050 by leading climate-related processes, conducting advanced modelling and analysis, and ensuring disclosures meet regulatory and stakeholder expectations.

This position directly contributes to optimising long-term net investment returns by embedding climate risk and sustainability into investment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the enhancement, implementation, and management of our climate risk management framework in alignment with AASB S1 & S2.
  • Develop and apply climate-related processes, including quantitative scenario analysis, stress testing, and physical and transition risk assessments across the portfolio;
  • Conduct emissions baselining across all scopes and categories (including financed emissions) and monitor progress toward emissions reduction targets.
  • Apply advanced statistical and mathematical modelling to quantify climate-related financial impacts and identify decarbonisation opportunities to evolve our transition plan toward net zero by 2050.
  • Conduct financial modelling and due diligence for renewable energy and low-carbon technology investments;
  • Leverage AI and machine learning for predictive modelling, data analysis, and automated reporting.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for climate risk management processes and practices;
  • Engage with senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional projects related to climate strategy and reporting.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as Environmental Science, Finance, Engineering, or Data Science; postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.
  • Minimum 5–7 years' experience in climate-related financial analysis, scenario modelling, emissions data validation, and sustainability reporting within superannuation, institutional investment, or asset management.
  • Experience in GHG emissions accounting using recognised standards, and tracking net-zero targets, energy efficiency, and renewable energy metrics.
  • Proven ability to apply ESG frameworks, conduct climate stress testing, and meet reporting and assurance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, Excel, Tableau or Power BI; experience with ESG platforms.
  • Familiarity with climate risk tools and geospatial data for portfolio risk assessment.
  • Strong communication, project management, and organisational skills.
