**How will I help?**
**Key responsibilities**:
- Develop statistical models to establish and maintain ‘best practice’ risk management and automated credit decisioning processes, including credit scoring models, Probability of Default, Loss Given Default and Exposure at Default.
- Be responsible for ensuring core credit models are maintained to a high standard to facilitate compliance with legislation, regulatory requirements, governance frameworks and policies.
- Proactively collaborate and communicate with managers to ensure our projects, business-as-usual activities, governance framework and compliance obligations are conducted in a coordinated manner, as One Team.
- Identify new opportunities to enhance existing credit decisioning and risk management processes through the use of statistical models and tools.
- Collaborate with analytics stakeholders to ensure risk models meet requirements and provide support to end users.
- Collaborate with data and systems teams to ensure data transition from warehouse to modelling environment to production environment is efficient and robust.
- Possess a strong technical orientation with proficiency in one or more of the following languages: SAS, R, Python, SQL, Matlab, Ruby, Excel incl. VBA. Possess experience in data manipulation, data cleansing, modelling, statistical analyses and reporting.
- Build relationships and promote knowledge sharing with other Westpac departments that make use of predictive modelling (e.g. product, marketing, fraud).
- Liaise and communicate regularly with audit teams, provide audit with regular updates on model enhancement / changes and manage audit review outcomes to ensure effective ratings.
- Be responsible for the regular development of credit scorecards, including ongoing validation and ad hoc monitoring of existing scorecards.

**What do I need?**
- Two years or more experience within an analytical team or equivalent
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Tertiary qualifications (Maths/Statistics/Quantitative/Business or other relevant degree) or equivalent business experience
- Advanced programming skills in SAS, Python, SQL, R, Matlab, or similar
- Excel with VBA, Word and PowerPoint
- Sound data management expertise and sound statistical knowledge
