**About the role**

We are looking to appoint a Head of Risk & Compliance in the Transformation, Sustainability and Customer Operations (TSCO) department within Sportsbet. This is a ‘Line 1’ Risk & Compliance role. It will be responsible for coordinating, leading and performing Risk & Compliance activities (Obligation Management, Risk Assessments, Control Testing, Incident Management, Etc.) over a selection of TSCO topics. TSCO topics include Safer Gambling, Financial Crime, Privacy, Customer Operations, Fraud, Payments, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Strategy & Research.

This role will also sit on the Customer Sustainability, Risk & Compliance (CSRC) LT, playing a key role in setting standards, driving culture and leading this function.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Management**: Lead a small team (1-2 people) and manage key processes. Contribute to the CSRC and TSCO Leadership Teams.

**Stakeholder Management & Advisory**: Serve as the primary contact for senior business management, building strong relationships. Act as a trusted advisor, solving complex issues and providing risk and compliance advice for new initiatives.

**Team Strategy**: Contribute to the development of the CSRC strategy and own the delivery of key initiatives.

**Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management**: Ensure understanding of regulatory obligations, monitor compliance, and provide expertise on risk management. Drive improvements in governance, risk management, and internal controls.

**Control Articulation & Testing**: Review, challenge, and provide advice on control environments. Oversee control testing, communicate results, and monitor management responses to ensure effective changes.

**Supporting Risk & Compliance Activities**: Manage incident resolution, ensure training completion, and act as an escalation point for internal and external audits.

**Data Analytics**: Lead data-driven decision-making and initiatives involving data analytics testing.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Extensive experience in risk management, compliance, and assurance.
- Experience with audits and internal controls (Big 4 or similar).
- Advanced expertise in risk identification, management, and control design/implementation.
- Experience in the gambling sector or other highly regulated industries.
- Business/Technology, Law, or Digital or other relevant undergraduate degree.
- Qualifications in Risk, Compliance, or Internal Audit.
