**About the Role**
In this hands on role, you will play a key part in developing and delivering on ground programs and projects that will achieve strategic biodiversity outcomes for Council and increase community environmental awareness and participation.
Your responsibilities will include assistance with the coordination of the Bushcare and bush regeneration programs, implementation of the Ryde Biodiversity Plan and delivery of natural areas management activities and facilitation of compliance and legislative based activities.
Your experience with the delivery of similar projects and programs will assist you in examining and identifying gaps within current programs and in enhancing and building of new programs to achieve Council’s biodiversity objectives. The role will also involve representation on various committees and you will liaise with internal and external stakeholder groups in matters relating to natural areas.
**Key Requirements**
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, environmental science, natural resource management or a related discipline
- Proven experience delivering strategic programs related to biodiversity or natural resource management in a similar role
- Experience in successfully implementing natural areas management strategies, programs and projects
- Understanding of environmental legislation relevant to local government and natural areas management
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent project management skills including delivery of programs related to natural areas and community
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills

Your commencing annual salary will range from **$72,935 - $81,618 + superannuation**, dependent on your experience and qualifications
