**About the role**:
The Manager, Curriculum Development plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of education in NSW by leading a team of Subject Matter Officers (SMOs) responsible for developing K-12 syllabuses. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educational leader to contribute to the state's curriculum reform agenda, ensuring that syllabuses are comprehensive, inclusive and reflective of the latest educational standards and research. You'll be at the forefront of curriculum innovation, collaborating with various teams to deliver high-quality educational outcomes that benefit all students across NSW.
**On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for**:
- Leading and managing a team of SMOs to develop and deliver K-12 syllabuses within the curriculum reform timeframe.
- Providing operational oversight and ensuring high standards in the delivery of syllabus development projects.
- Collaborating with the Curriculum Operations Reform Team and other NESA units to ensure syllabuses are inclusive, accessible and aligned with reform objectives.
- Maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and managing the diverse expectations of various educational partners.
- Offering expert advice on curriculum alignment with the NSW Curriculum Review findings and government directives.
- Utilising technology to support and streamline the syllabus development process.
- Tertiary qualifications in education, educational leadership, or a related field with extensive knowledge of curriculum and assessment legislation.
- Proven experience in curriculum development, school leadership or project management, particularly within 7-10 education.
- Strong leadership and management skills with a track record of successfully leading teams in high-stakes and time-sensitive projects.
- The ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including educational organisations and government bodies.
- A deep understanding of the latest trends and issues in curriculum reform with the ability to provide strategic and operational oversight.
