**Your new role**
This is an all-encompassing role which harnesses skillsets in business intelligence, compliance assurance, auditing and risk management. Some duties include but are not limited to:

- Providing advice, support and guidance on risk management to stakeholders, including business risk identification, assessment and mitigation advice, risk workshop facilitation, and assistance in the preparation, implementation and review of Risk Management Plans
- Supporting the development and maintenance of the suite of operational risk management framework documentation, including all guidance materials, tools and templates
- Reviewing the identified operational risks and providing advice on adherence with the operational risk management framework
- Working with the control owners to assist in the development of performance measures and control performance reports
- Developing communication products to raise awareness of the operational risk management processes and the availability of tools to support internal stakeholders
- Identifying risks and issues to support operational areas to respond proactively and constructively to findings and recommendations.
- Ensure statutory timeframes are met in providing input and access to information as required
- Contributing to the preparation of reports on risk management activities to Risk and Assurance Working Group (RAWG), Management Committee, Risk Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, Enterprise Committee, other governance committees and internal or external audit bodies as required
- Coordination of the Compliance Assurance Program, and ensuring that ensuring that assurance practitioners are provided with appropriate support to undertake compliance assurance checks
- Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement in relation to compliance assurance and the program
- Review compliance assurance reports to ensure that action items are allocated to responsible business areas and implementation of recommendations is regularly tracked and reported
- Contribute to the drafting of the program’s annual work plan, relevant policy and procedural instructions and briefings for the Senior Executive
- Prepare a wide range of complex and/or sensitive written communication material for the Section with a high level of proficiency, including operational reports, operating guidelines and executive briefs
- Develop and maintain productive stakeholder relationships to coordinate activities relating to the Compliance Assurance Framework

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role you must be an Australian Citizen and have relevant experience in Government Department and / or in a similar position. You must also be able to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Security Clearance (Baseline, NV1 or NV2) as well as be willing to undertake an Employment Suitability Screening (ESC) which is specific to the Department.
