**The Opportunity**
The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) Operations and Delivery Group aims to be a responsive, trusted and reliable partner that delivers valued advice and services to enable a high-performing NIAA.
Within Operations and Delivery, the West and South Group delivers strategies, products and services in support of the NIAA's work programs, partnerships and outreach activities across Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania. It is a conduit between the NIAA and its community stakeholders, partners and government agencies that are focused on the advancement of Indigenous Australians.
We have two APS5 Analyst opportunities available within the West and South Group - one vacancy is in the West and South Group Executive Team and one in the Greater Western Australia Regional Planning and Coordination Team. An Analyst assists in managing the day-to-day activities of the team in delivering high quality services and policy implementation and ensuring tasks are completed within performance measures. They may also undertake management or work in small projects in the team or work on larger projects within the branch.
The Analyst is responsible for:
- undertaking reasonably complex procedural, administrative and service-related tasks that support NIAA business activities, including coordination of West and South Group and Greater Western Australia Region activities relating to parliamentary input, Agency information requests and others
- providing quality assurance of work and providing constructive feedback
- prioritising and allocating work; putting strategies in place to ensure completion by deadline
- identifying opportunities to enhance team and branch processes in an environment of collaboration, continuous improvement and change. Work with team leadership when implementing changes, using Agency continuous improvement practices
- managing effective internal and external relationships, negotiating with stakeholders in more complex matters, and resolving escalated issues where appropriate
- providing guidance, coaching and direction to staff on procedural, administrative and service activities
- creating a culturally safe workplace by fostering an environment where the concept of culture and how it influences the workplace and interactions, is understood
- understanding and supporting NIAA's vision and purpose
- understanding how the work of the team contributes to it
- participating in the development of team and section plans, strategies and goals to support the vision.
