**About the role**
As Community Development Officer you will be part of the Community Wellbeing team and work with stakeholders to improve social and community wellbeing outcomes with young people in the Ipswich community. Your experience in community development and working with young people will assist in delivering outcomes in alignment with council’s strategic vision and Ipswich Community Development Strategy 2021-2026.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Facilitate key actions from the Ipswich Community Development Strategy 2021-2026 in collaboration with partners and key stakeholders
- Coordinate the Ipswich Youth Advisory Council
- Identify local community needs though research, consultation and identification of service gaps and facilitate appropriate initiatives to benefit the Ipswich community.
- Support and connect local community centres to deliver impactful social programming
- Ensure projects and initiatives are delivered within frameworks
- Collaborate with others across council in the delivery of a broad program of work representing the interests and needs of young people and of the Ipswich community

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Relevant qualifications in Community/Youth/Human Services and/or an equivalent experience
- Substantial experience in engaging effectively with young people of the community and other stakeholders in a meaningful way
- Excellent communication skills building strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders
- Current Queensland C Class driver’s licence
- Working with Children Check - Issue of Blue Card and Positive Notice Letter (issued by the Queensland Government) or Exemption Card

This is a permanent full time position, Level 5 with a salary commencing at $93,169 plus 12.5% superannuation.
