About the Role Mercy Community is look for a highly motivated, resilient, and experienced Counsellor - Sexual Abuse Counselling Program (SACP).
Based in our Ipswich office on a Permanent Full Time basis.
$88,099 - $94,792 per annum (SCHADS L4) plus superannuation plus generous salary packaging available What you'll be doing Work with your line manager to identify client needs and deliver appropriate services within available resources, continually assessing and responding to changing needs and dynamics Conduct assessments to inform therapeutic goals, intervention plans, casework, and client support Offer short and long-term individual and family counselling in response to referrals, using various therapeutic interventions to address identified issues Ensure culturally appropriate counselling for clients from Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and CALD backgrounds by liaising with community members Establish and maintain trusting, meaningful relationships with clients and relevant stakeholders About You As the successful candidate, you will possess: Degree in Counselling, Psychology, Behavioural Sciences, Social Work, or related discipline from a recognised institution Proven experience in working therapeutically with children and young people Ability to maintain professionalism and implement cultural competency while working with clients and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds A Provisional Green (P2) or above Driver's License Ability to obtain positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required Evidence of a current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain prior to commencement unless applicable exemption provided Why Mercy Community Mercy Community is a Catholic not-for-profit, compassionately inspiring and supporting people to live hopeful, connected lives within inclusive communities.
