**Purpose of the Role**
The Commercial Operations Lead is a key support to the General Manager, positioned to learn the operational heartbeat of Dardi Munwurro Labour & Traffic Management. This role is a stepping stone into commercial leadership, responsible for mastering internal systems (including Traffio), understanding and enhancing client relationships, and taking the lead on commercial management — all while maintaining the cultural integrity and social impact vision of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management
- Assist in developing and maintaining rate cards, pricing strategies, and bid responses.
- Review and negotiate client contracts in line with industry standards and cultural values.
- Monitor revenue, project margins, and financial performance of contracts.
- Work closely with the General Manager to ensure sustainable commercial growth.
Systems & Operations
- Gain full understanding of Traffio and other workflow systems to ensure accurate client bookings, staff allocations, and job tracking.
- Ensure all bookings and invoicing are aligned with client agreements and operational capacity.
- Streamline operational handover between bookings, accounts, and field staff.
Client Relations
- Support existing client relationships with professionalism, responsiveness, and cultural sensitivity.
- Work alongside the GM to build new client partnerships and retain long-term contracts.
- Resolve service issues, negotiate work scopes, and represent the business in meetings.
Industrial Relations & Union Engagement
- Understand Industrial Relations (IR) laws and award frameworks relevant to traffic management.
- Maintain collaborative and compliant relationships with unions, including the CFMEU.
- Work with field staff and supervisors to ensure conditions of employment align with EBAs or Awards.

- Familiarity with IR and union frameworks, or willingness to learn.
- Previous experience in traffic, construction, labour hire, or operations highly regarded.
**Key Selection Criteria**
Commercial Acumen and Financial Oversight
Demonstrated experience or interest in commercial management, including knowledge of pricing strategies, bid preparation, financial tracking, and contract negotiation to support business sustainability.
Client and Stakeholder Relationship Management
Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners. Experience resolving service issues, supporting client retention, and communicating with professionalism and cultural sensitivity.
Operational Systems Knowledge and Efficiency
Ability to quickly learn and utilise internal systems such as Traffio or similar workflow platforms for bookings, invoicing, and operational tracking.
Industrial Relations and Union Engagement
Understanding of IR laws, awards, and EBAs, with experience or willingness to engage with union representatives to ensure compliant and collaborative employment practices.
Communication and Negotiation Skills
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Capable of representing the organisation in meetings and negotiations while upholding its cultural integrity and community values.
Cultural Competency and Community-Led Focus
Commitment to working in culturally safe environments and supporting Aboriginal-led employment pathways. Understanding of or lived experience within Aboriginal communities is highly valued.
Relevant Industry Experience
Experience in the traffic, construction, labour hire, or operations sectors is highly regarded and will be considered favourably in the context of the role's scope.
