**About the role**
This newly reimaged full-time role is designed to drive a positive safety culture in HammondCare’s Residential and Dementia Centre portfolios. Working with the Health Safety & Wellbeing team you will work collaboratively across the portfolios to ensure the implementation, ongoing operation and continuous improvement of HammondCare’s health, safety and wellbeing framework and management system. The role will also assist with the implementation and evaluation of HammondCare’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategic initiatives.
**_ This role is permanent full-time role based at St Leonards with hybrid opportunities available._**
**Key Responsibilities include**
- Providing quality oversight of all incidents and hazard data by reviewing the identification of risks and classifications as well as ensuring thorough investigations are undertaken by the local management
- Ensuring the implementation of risk minimisation strategies and evaluate their effectiveness through ongoing supervision of Residential and Dementia Centre incidents in HammondCare’s Risk Management system
- Providing administrative oversight of all health, safety & wellbeing committees to ensure they meet their responsibilities
- Working with the Manager, Health, Safety & Wellbeing and Employee Relations in establishing the context, identification, analysis and evaluation of health and safety related risk to identify trends and patterns that could result in targeted safety improvement programs and practices
- Working with business unit managers and team members to facilitate communication, consultation and cooperation in all matters relating to health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace
- Facilitating and assisting managers and frontline team members to understand and meet their work health and safety responsibilities
- Supporting the development and review of policies, procedures, guides, communications and educational materials related to workplace health, safety and wellbeing
- Supporting the development and provision of education activities in the area of workplace risk, health, safety and wellbeing.[EB1]
**About You**
- Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
- Demonstrated experience in a work health safety & wellbeing role preferably within a health or aged care setting
- Demonstrated experience engaging with stakeholders at all levels with strong influencing skills
- Exceptional communication skills written and verbal with the ability to build rapport quickly
- Demonstrated experience working to deadlines, prioritising workload with strong time management skills
- Strong administrative and computer skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Empathy and patience
- Current NSW driver’s licence and willingness to travel between HammondCare’s sites and services
- Cert IV or higher qualification in work, health and safety desirable
