**Section 1: Job Description**

**Primary Function**

Jarrah Supports work in accordance with the National Standards for Disability Services. Staff must work and uphold Jarrah Supports in a positive light. Deliver supports according to Jarrah Supports “what we stand for”

As a staff member you are accountable to both the participants that you support, and to Jarrah Supports ensuring that the support you provide to our participants are respectful and they have choice and control over their lives.

You will help us ensure our supports are person-centred, planned to meet individual needs, lifestyle choices and goals achieving greater independence.

**Roles and responsibilities**

**Our participant lives with her family and lives with Autism.**

**The participant is a teenager and attends high school.**

**Support Worker**:
The role of Support worker in this instance will include the following tasks and skills / interests.
- Support the young person to get ready for school in the morning and transporting her to the school
- Picking the young person up from school and returning to her to her home or to community activities she may have.
- When she is at home, engaging with her in her interest of Coding and Anime
- There are morning and after noon shifts several times per week and there is ongoing work on Saturdays.

**The following applies to all roles.**
- Allow the participant to form their own views and not unduly influence them to make or adopt different views.
- Build capacity of the participant so that they are able to advocate for services that they are entitled to receive.
- Help us by contributing and finding ways to continually improve on the services and supports we provide.
- Escalate issues as appropriate to your line manager.
- You reflect a can-do image, are flexible and reliable.
- Undertake ongoing professional development as required.
- In addition to the above responsibilities, you are required to also perform any other reasonable duties as directed from time to time.

- **Training and supervision arrangements**:

- We will provide you with the specific required trainings that may be needed but may include (but not limited to the following)
- Training plans will be developed and delivered by Jarrahs Supports or a 3rd party person or platform.
- Worker’s Orientation Program (as determined at the time)
- Infection prevention and control module

**Security and mandatory requirements**
- The following are required to be maintained throughout your employment:

- NDIS Worker’s Screening Check that allows you to work in the NDIS sector.
- NDIS Workers Orientation Module and any updates to that module that is determined by the NDIS.
- Proof of right to work as determined by the relevant Gov agency.
- First Aid and CPR As per your first aid allowance payment you receive.
- Driver's License. As determined by the relevant laws of the State of WA

**Section 3: Qualifications and Memberships**

Required qualifications.

Certificate III (or higher) in Disability or other Human Services type certificate.

OR

Through interview / recommendation or previous work experience in a customer focused role it is determined a suitable understanding of how supports should be delivered to an individual who receives NDIS supports.

OR

A lived experience as a person with disability or a carer for family / friend person with a disability.

**Specific requirements requested by the participant.**
- Applicants be Male ( at the request of the participant and the family)
- Applicants have excellent English language skills

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $40.26 - $88.58 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 13 per week

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Penalty rates
