The University of Queensland (UQ) and Metro North Health (MNH) have formed the STARS Education and Research Alliance to bring together world-leading researchers, clinicians and educators to create knowledge and embed clinical research that transforms patients outcomes and clinical care.
The Alliance between Metro North health and The University of Queensland enriches collaboration between clinicians, researchers, and students, working together to put real time research into action and deliver tailored patient care. As a research-active facility, patients and families can also choose to work hand-in-hand with research teams and clinicians to deliver patient-centric models of care. We are ensuring that today's research is tomorrow's treatment, delivering exceptional health outcomes now and into the future.
The STARS Education and Research Alliance has been established by MNH and The University of Queensland to drive and guide the integrate of research, education, and clinical practice at STARS.

About This Opportunity
We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow/Clinical Research Fellow in Consumer and Community Involvement to enhance the research capacity and capabilities of both Metro North Health (MNH) and The University of Queensland (UQ). The role will lead high quality research focused on community and consumer involvement in research aligned with STARS and MNH clinical services and priority research themes of UQ-SHRS and STARS. Research and/or clinical experience in areas aligned with existing the strengths of the Alliance will be well-regarded (e.g., rehabilitation, speech pathology). A key focus will be to plan, undertake and publish a program of clinical research under the general direction of the Director of the Education and Research Alliance, STARS, and university leaders.
The one role is offered - with or without contribution to STARS allied health clinical service delivery - as follows:

Research Fellow in Consumer and Community Involvement (without contribution as a clinical allied health professional in STARS service) or;
*
Clinical Research Fellow in Consumer and Community Involvement (with contribution as an allied health professional in STARS services). Clinical allied health services in STARS include inpatient rehabilitation (including general rehabilitation and specialist rehabilitation), ambulatory (day hospital) services, and surgical and procedural services (including orthopaedics, gastroenterology, ophthalmology).
