ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exceptional 2 year (max term) full time opportunity for a Business Intelligence Specialist to join our Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance team in Blackburn.

Reporting to the Executive Manager Data Officer, you will lead the development and implementation of enterprise Business Intelligence and partner with a broad spectrum of stakeholders to support the delivery of innovative and optimised performance reporting.

The key focus of the role is:

- Develop regular Power BI visualisations and adhoc queries for executive level stakeholders
- Translate business needs into analytics/reporting requirements and provide business context to data technicians and system administrators
- Assist with uplifting departmental reporting by conducting business requirement gathering sessions with business analysts to define business problems and analytical requirements, and translate into technical requirements
- Maintain the Data Governance Framework for the organisation and develop proof of concept BI models and prototypes to prove solution feasibility
- Promote best practice by engaging, coaching and mentoring business analysts and individuals in accessing, interpreting and understanding data trends (forecasting and predictions)

ABOUT YOU
- A degree in a relevant discipline (i.e., Business or IT-related)
- Data, Analytics & Insights, Business Intelligence work history
- 5+ years demonstrated experience in developing dashboards and visualisation solutions using tools such as Power BI
- SQL Server skills including SQL objects development, performance tuning, data analysis and integration
- Deep knowledge and experience with Power BI / Azure to maximise value from the technology stack
- Experience with working in an Agile/ Dev-Ops environment will be beneficial to the team as improved practices/ways of working need to be implemented
- Strong Business engagement, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
