Head of Performance Management and Optimisation

**How will I help?**

As the Head of Finance - Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) Performance Management and Optimisation, you will lead the WIB Performance Management function accountable for the provision of timely, accurate and insightful information on financial performance to the WIB Executive Team and support the WIB CFO with the WIB finance change agenda. Leading a team of 12, you will be a key member of the WIB Finance leadership team, delivering WIB Finance strategy, leading team culture, developing talent, and ensuring WIB Finance is a high performing and value adding function.

Reporting to the WIB CFO, as the Head of Performance Management and Optimisation for WIB, you will take carriage of:

- Driving the production and delivery of WIB’s management reporting, contributing insights on the performance of the division across core drivers.
- Managing financial forecasting and planning (including BSR) for the WIB division, for the preparation of the Group’s approach to capital investment and major transactions.
- Contributing to the production of the Group’s Corporate reporting and preparation of divisional competitor and peer analysis and insights.
- Providing business advisory support for the WIB COO team and the WIB Functional teams of Finance, HR, Operations and Technology.
- Oversight of project finance accounting to ensure all financial considerations are appropriately reflected and business case assumptions are aligned.
- Managing change activities on behalf of WIB Finance, including management of changes impacting WIB Finance from across the Enterprise and driving change from within WIB finance through continuous improvement and re-engineering initiatives and problem resolution.
- Responsible for WIB Balance sheet reporting, including the production of timely and accurate reporting for committees, forecasting, margin management and capital optimisation. Driving timely and accurate production of WIB Transformation / cost reset reporting and deliver insights on trends to WIB ET and Group Finance.

**What do I need?**

You will have substantial experience working in institutional banking at a “Head of” level or equivalent. You will hold tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting, as well as CA/CPA qualification, with over 10 years post graduate experience. You will have a strong understanding of balance sheet and profit & loss drivers and performance metrics in an institutional banking environment. You are capable of working at Executive level, building relationships at all levels, including Group Executive level. Dedicated to leading high-performance teams and transformation, you have a demonstrated background in coaching and mentoring, continuous improvement and innovation. Driven to deliver, you are high energy with proven ability to deliver the best possible results for the organisation and show determination, resilience, resourcefulness, and a sense of purpose. With a track record of successfully navigating complex problem solving, you thrive in providing analytical, commercially driven, innovative thinking. Paramount to success, you understand and are comfortable dealing with risk, you understand the operating environment and how to mitigate operational risk.
