**How will you contribute?**

We are seeking one Associate Director to lead a range of external audits within Financial Audit. Reporting to a Director, Financial Audit, the Associate Directors lead a dedicated professional audit team to deliver high quality audits, varying in size and complexity, for a diverse portfolio of government clients.

In particular, Associate Directors will be responsible for:

- achieving quality audits within defined times and budgets, meeting methodology, professional standards and legislative requirements
- maintaining optimum client satisfaction through relationship management while identifying audit outcomes which have impact and can be readily reported to parliament.
- planning and managing a challenging financial audit program, involving leadership of a mobile team across multiple locations
- developing the capabilities, knowledge and experience of the audit team through inspiring leadership and investment in people.

**What will you need to succeed?**
- sound experience in risk-based financial audits
- strong leadership skills with the ability to engage, motivate and develop staff
- sound judgement in financial, resource, and people management
- a thorough knowledge of accounting and auditing practices, processes and legislative and regulatory frameworks and requirements
- worked on a range of complex and diverse audits
- influenced stakeholders to adopt audit recommendations and provided relevant and informative audit reports.

Essential requirements:

- tertiary qualification in an appropriate business discipline
- full membership of CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or the Institute of Public Accountants
- thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant legislation, professional standards, auditing concepts and techniques.
- Australian permanent resident or citizen or New Zealand citizen.

On offer is a total remuneration package (including superannuation) from **$161,832 to $204,399** per annum depending on experience, skills and capabilities. You will also have access to flexible work practices and arrangements.
