**About the organisation**:
Our client is a Community Services organisation that assists people and communities by offering early pathways to employment, whilst helping individuals adjust to changing employment conditions. Through government funded employment services, vocational education and training, this not for profit organisation works with disadvantaged individuals, people living with a disability, and young people across New South Wales, ACT, Victoria and Queensland, and tailors training and support to individual needs and local circumstances.

Currently delivering a number of large government funded employment services contracts and with a proven track record of high quality, award winning training across a range of industries, the organisation is looking to appoint an experienced employment services state manager to lead teams and managers across large geographical areas across Victoria.

**About the opportunity**:
Reporting to the senior leadership team, the State Manager will oversee several Regional Managers and larger teams across regional and metropolitan Employment Services Areas.

The location is flexible across the Greater Melbourne area, but travel and some overnight stays will be required. The base salary is very competitive and includes tax incentives through salary packaging, and a vehicle or vehicle allowance.

**To be successful you should have**:

- A sound understanding of Employment Services contracts, and the challenges in delivering those programs, experience in DES would be highly regarded
- People management experience including the ability to manage managers, lead by example, inspire, and motivate teams
- Be strategic in your thinking, with strong analytical skills, business acumen and proven success in achieving financial targets
- Local labour market knowledge and well developed local networks
- Ability to develop and maintain long-term working relationships with a range of stakeholders
- A demonstrated ability to meet and exceed challenging performance targets and KPIs
- Able to use initiative, work autonomously and communicate effectively across all levels
- Excellent communication, data analysis and report writing skills
- A current Drivers Licence and the ability to travel with overnight stays
- The ability to pass a Federal Police Check and obtain a Working with Children Check
