SORD is an online reporting solution using Microsoft Azure and Power BI to deliver dynamic reports to schools, regions, and central office teams. SORD strengthens our ability to make evidence-informed decisions that enable the delivery of quality education and early childhood services.
The team is not only responsible for ensuring SORD is maintained and supported, but continues to grow to meets user needs and deliver further benefits for schools, regions and central office teams.
As the System Support Officer, you will provide operational support to the Manager and other team members, and will have well-developed systems administration and data analytics skills, and can develop strong working relationships with members of a dynamic team consisting of technical and non-technical staff to support enhancements to existing reports, and the development and delivery of new reports.
You will also use excellent customer service skills to support users access SORD, build their understanding of the data within SORD and the insight it provides, and help them to develop their Power BI capabilities.

**Your role**:
**Responsibilities include**:

- Participate in the development and maintenance of information systems for the provision of accurate, reliable and appropriate data to meet the requirements of decision makers, managers and planners across the department.
- Support system users by designing and developing training resources and delivering training packages.
- Identify, document and test requirements for enhancements to various information systems.
- Implement strategies to improve data accuracy, data quality and efficiency of collection and reporting processes.
- Assist in the formulation and preparation of reports using programs such as Power BI.
- Collect, collate, analyse and, where appropriate, report performance measurement information for use by other departmental business units and departmental officers.
- Liaise with other officers across the department to manage expectations, gain a broader knowledge of user needs/desires and to identify data sharing opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of briefing notes, Ministerial and executive management correspondence on a range of complex and sensitive issues.
- Ensure the accuracy, reliability and security of data required for analytical and reporting purposes.
- Implement system controls to ensure the quality, security and integrity of data collections.
