The role involves direct interaction with offenders through the performance of surveillance activities such as electronic monitoring (EM), home visits, transporting and escorting offenders as well as drug and alcohol testing.
**In this role you will**:
Ensure compliance, legislation and departmental procedures and standards for the surveillance of offenders.
Surveillance of offenders living in the community including the installation of EM equipment and the performance of monitoring/response activities associated with EM.
Undertake direct interaction with offenders regarding the resolution of surveillance issues (installing, monitoring, checking EM equipment)
Ensure that the surveillance of offenders meet the requirements of protecting community safety.
Utilise EM to identify, interpret and respond to offender movements and alert data.
Identify and respond appropriately to risks arising from surveillance offender management (including field visits and EM) including appropriate liaison with the Intelligence Analyst, Regional and District Manager as required.
Ensure the confidentiality and security of offender details and appropriate access to the information by relevant staff and approved external agencies.
Other surveillance and case management tasks including conducting drug and alcohol testing, undertaking transportation and escort of offenders, undertaking home visits and providing assistance to offender with reintegration activities may also be required.
Develop and maintain productive relationships with service providers and other community agencies.
Ensure appropriate exchange of information with the Queensland Police Service, other agencies and government departments to optimise offender surveillance with the highest standards of community safety.
Maintain strong internal and external professional networks in accordance with policies and procedures.
Ensure maintenance, accuracy and appropriateness of surveillance results.
Ensure records and information data for the Integrated Offender Management system (IOMS) are accurate and current.
Ensure the security of files where relevant.
Demonstrate skills in report writing and case noting to a professional standard expected for the audience of both internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure the safety and security of self and others.
Ensure the security and confidentiality of QCS property and information.
Must be available for full time hours during the initial 5 to 6 weeks of onboarding training.
