Sands is currently seeking a dedicated **Freight Support Officer** to join our team. Reporting to the Freight Services Coordinator, this role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth flow of freight and associated documentation, meeting customer schedules and expectations.

You will contribute to seamless deliveries by fostering strong client relationships and coordinating with the operational team to ensure the success of our logistics operations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Liaise between customers and internal departments to ensure clear communication and service delivery.
- Coordinate with transport operations staff regarding loading status and delays, ensuring timely updates to customers.
- Communicate with dock supervisors to address loading/receiving priorities and issues.
- Schedule and manage return freight unloads and load-outs in collaboration with transport operations.
- Resolve discrepancies related to freight and documentation.
- Manage customer pallet documentation, conduct weekly counts, and generate reports.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment; report and investigate safety incidents.
- Ensure compliance with OH&S regulations and quality procedures.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team culture.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in an operational customer support role, preferably within logistics or transportation.

Proficiency in transport and warehouse management systems.

Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience in dispatching and logistics operations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong time management and organizational abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
