Aboriginal Midwifery Care Specialist

About the RoleWe are seeking a Student Midwifery Trainee to join our team and assist in the delivery of maternity care to clients at Alukura Maternity Group Practice (AMGP) whilst gaining a broad understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a Midwife and provision of midwifery care within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service MGP setting.
Responsibilities- Work under the direct supervision of a Midwife within a defined scope of practice to deliver midwifery care in acute or primary health care settings.
- Complete all essential training requirements, including attendance at face-to-face simulation blocks and clinical placements at Congress clinics and tertiary hospitals as specified by the university Batchelor of Midwifery program.
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Be a long-term local resident of Central Australia.
- Be currently studying, or have been accepted and enrolled, and be about to commence studying a Batchelor of Midwifery program.
- Intend to practice as a midwife in Central Australia after graduating.
- Have a passion and commitment to the care and outcomes of Indigenous women.
