Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is a leading provider of primary health care services to Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory. We offer a comprehensive and culturally-appropriate midwifery program that supports the delivery of high-quality maternity care.

About the Role

The Student Midwifery Trainee (SMT) will work under the supervision of a Midwife, providing midwifery care in acute or primary health care settings. The SMT will be supported to complete all essential training requirements, including simulation blocks and clinical placements at Congress clinics and tertiary hospitals.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver midwifery care to clients at Alukura Maternity Group Practice (AMGP)
  • Gain a broad understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a Midwife
  • Provision of midwifery care within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service MGP setting
Requirements
  • Long-term local resident of Central Australia
  • Currently studying or accepted into a Batchelor of Midwifery program
  • Passion and commitment to the care and outcomes of Indigenous women
