Midwifery Support Role
Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is seeking a dedicated Midwifery Trainee to join our team in delivering culturally appropriate midwifery support services to Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Midwife, providing midwifery care in acute or primary health care settings and assisting in the delivery of maternity care to clients at Alukura Maternity Group Practice.
As a Midwifery Trainee, you will have the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a Midwife and contribute to the provision of midwifery care within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service MGP setting.

About the Role
The Student Midwifery Trainee will work under the direct supervision of a Midwife within a defined scope of practice, to deliver midwifery care in acute or primary health care settings.
The SMT will be supported to complete all essential training requirements, including attendance at face-to-face simulation blocks and clinical placements at Congress clinics and tertiary hospitals as specified by the university Batchelor of Midwifery program.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver midwifery care in acute or primary health care settings
- Assist in the delivery of maternity care to clients at Alukura Maternity Group Practice
- Contribute to the provision of midwifery care within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service MGP setting
- Complete all essential training requirements as specified by the university Batchelor of Midwifery program
