About the RoleThe Student Midwifery Trainee (SMT) will work under the direct supervision of a Midwife within a defined scope of practice, providing midwifery care in acute or primary health care settings.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this role is between $56,569 and $57,895 per annum, with a total effective package of up to $75,147. This includes base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, and estimated tax savings from salary packaging options.

RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you must:
- Be a long-term local resident of Central Australia
- Be currently studying or have been accepted and enrolled in a Batchelor of Midwifery program
- Intend to practice as a midwife in Central Australia after graduating
- Have a passion and commitment to the care and outcomes of Indigenous women
You will assist in the delivery of maternity care to Alukura Maternity Group Practice clients while gaining a broad understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a Midwife and provision of midwifery care within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service MGP setting.
