Electrical Engineer

The Simulation Electrical Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the maintenance of RAAF training systems. The Electronic Attack Air Combat Training Support program, based at RAAF Base Amberley, QLD, provides vital support to the RAAF Super Hornet and Growler aircrew and maintainer training system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse electrical (computing & ICT) systems for optimal performance
  • Determine compliance status for all relevant systems
  • Investigate hardware issues to prevent downtime
  • Conduct thorough evaluation and testing to validate system functionality
  • Undertake life cycle costing analysis of critical sub-systems to inform decision-making
  • Maintain accurate configuration documentation for seamless integration
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronic Engineering or related field (Computer Science)
  • Systems Engineering experience preferred
  • Ability to manage small projects within area of responsibility
  • Defence platform-based or sustainment experience essential
  • Aviation knowledge/experience with F/A-18F and EA-18G aircraft desirable
