Lead Mechanical Designer for Process Plants

We are seeking an experienced mechanical designer to lead the design of complex process plants. This role involves designing high-temperature, high-pressure process equipment, including reactors, heat exchangers, piping, and storage systems.

The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to work on a pioneering project that integrates advanced engineering, safety, and sustainability. You will be part of a high-calibre team of engineers and industry specialists.

Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • 10+ years' experience in process plant mechanical design (chemical, petrochemical, or energy sectors preferred)
  • Proficiency in mechanical design codes (ASME, API, AS/NZS)
  • Experience with high-temperature materials, cryogenic systems, and corrosion resistance
  • Proven track record leading mechanical design packages from concept through detailed design and delivery
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams on complex projects
  • Legal right to work in Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, or Malaysia required
Potential Responsibilities
  • Translating process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) into detailed engineering drawings and specifications
  • Performing structural and thermal calculations to ensure mechanical integrity under extreme operating conditions
  • Preparing equipment data sheets, material selection reports, and fabrication specifications
  • Liaising with vendors, fabricators, and regulators during design phase
  • Leading mechanical input for risk assessments, HAZOP/HAZID workshops, and safety case preparation
