Design Checker Role

We are seeking a Design Checker to join our team in Milton (QLD). As a key member of our drafting department, you will be responsible for checking SMP design drawings to ensure they meet design outcomes for each project.

The ideal candidate will have minimum 15 years design experience and checking in a Process Plant Design environment, with extensive use of 3D CAD systems. They should also possess relevant tertiary qualifications and knowledge of current design and detail drafting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check drawings for compliance with client expectations, standards, specifications and procedures
  • Check drawings for constructability, fabrication and availability of materials and vendor information
  • Manage workloads to ensure tasks are met. Liaise with project team personnel where required, to produce accurate design documentation
  • Liaise with relevant disciplines to ensure design coordination of multi-disciplined projects
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and quality in the design documentation

Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years design experience and checking in a Process Plant Design environment
  • Extensive use of 3D CAD systems
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications - certificate or diploma in Structural ,Mechanical and Piping Design
  • Knowledge of current design and detail drafting standards
  • Full and unrestricted Australian working rights
