We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Human Resources Specialist to join our team at Public Sector People. This exciting opportunity will see you contribute to the delivery of key human resource projects, providing expert advice to management across a range of HR policy and project issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to management on a wide range of HR policy and project matters, ensuring alignment with contemporary HR practices.
  • Lead and support HR projects, including policy and procedure development, research, and analysis to inform HR policies, projects, and strategies, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Manage and resolve complaints, providing expert guidance on policies and best practices in workplace equity and diversity.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of HR practices within a local government setting.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or substantial equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated substantial experience providing high-quality HR advice in Local Government or similar environments.
  • Strong research, conceptual, and analytical skills with a proven ability to develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legislation in the areas of equity, diversity, anti-harassment, and anti-bullying.
  • A strong understanding of contemporary HR practices and experience in managing complaints and grievances.
