The Role

This position will play a key role in developing and implementing strategies to boost academic progress and achievement, particularly for disadvantaged groups and Australian First Nations communities.

As part of our leadership team, you'll work alongside Australian First Nations colleagues to provide strategic leadership and deliver aspirations for all learners and learning. You'll meet national and international objectives and standards while offering accessible education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the DVCA in increasing access to higher education for disadvantaged learners, including Australian First Nations communities.
  • Develop and implement strategies enhancing access to higher education, particularly for disadvantaged and Australian First Nations students.
  • Deliver enabling programs that assist learners to achieve their personal, educational, and career goals.
  • Engage discussions on how to meet national and international objectives and standards for aiding disadvantaged students and Australian First Nations students.

Requirements

  • A PhD is highly desirable.
  • A strong record of relevant industry/sector leadership in student engagement and access is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of supporting disadvantaged people and advancing social inclusion, including for Australian First Nations people.
  • Highly developed understanding of the higher education sector and academic structures.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
