Electrical Design Specialist

Our team is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Specialist to join our dynamic group in Brisbane and contribute to our expanding presence in Sydney. This exciting opportunity also invites talented candidates from Melbourne and South Australia to apply.

We have two full-time positions available:

  • 1x Permanent Role
  • 1x Fixed-Term 12-Month Contract (with potential for extension or permanent employment)

Job Description

As an Electrical Design Specialist, you will:

  • Design and specify instruments for pressure, flow, level, and temperature measurement, including datasheets and loop diagrams.
  • Specify and design on/off and control valves, including valve sizing and actuator selection.
  • Select control system hardware, design system architecture, and develop functional specifications.
  • Design fire and gas detection systems and contribute to LOPA, HAZOP, and CHAZOP assessments.
  • Perform hazardous area classification and relevant calculations (Ex 'i', 'e').
  • Participate in FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering (recognised by Engineers Australia).
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status (or substantial progress towards obtaining it).
  • Strong technical expertise in Instrument & Control Engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software for detailed design tasks.
  • Solid knowledge of Australian Standards, codes, and regulatory requirements relevant to Instrument & Control Engineering.
