Electrical Design Specialist

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Specialist to join our team. In this key position, you will play a pivotal role in preparing high-quality electrical deliverables for our clients.

You will be responsible for transforming conceptual designs into detailed technical deliverables and ensuring excellence in Auto CAD and design tool administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design Development: Interpret Engineer's conceptual designs and create detailed technical deliverables.
  2. Drawing Preparation: Prepare and update electrical system deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, P&ID's, Cable Block Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Hookup Diagrams, Equipment BOM's and Panel Arrangements.
  3. Site Inspections: Conduct site inspections to gather data and verify existing drawings.
  4. Support & Maintenance: Maintain Auto CAD infrastructure and design tool procedures.
  5. Training & Audits: Train new starters in MIPAC's Auto CAD and design tool procedures and conduct regular audits.
  6. Team Collaboration: Work with drafters, designers, and Engineers to ensure timely project completion.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or recognised equivalent) with relevant industry experience.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Detail Draftsperson.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as Auto CAD (Advanced to Expert level).
  • Strong oral communication skills for effective client and team interaction.
  • High level of computer literacy and excellent mathematical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
  • Focused and ability to prioritise workload.
