Health and Safety Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Cimic. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing SHEQ support services on site, preparing safety management plans, assisting and advising on site investigations, conducting SHEQ audits, and assisting with inspections to ensure compliance with our systems and legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective safety management plans to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel
- Conduct regular site investigations and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards
- Provide guidance and support to site personnel on SHEQ procedures and protocols
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, clients, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Develop and maintain accurate records of safety incidents and near misses
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the construction industry
- Demonstrable experience of Safety Management System implementation
- Proficiency in MS Office and exposure to in-house Health, Safety, and Environment systems
- Robust understanding of Commonwealth Construction Safety legislation
- Solid communication and management skills to lead, challenge, and improve safety practices on site
