Seeking a highly skilled Workplace Health and Safety Specialist to lead the implementation of WHS strategies and programs, embedding them within the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with senior managers and stakeholders to meet their WHS management needs.
  • Provide expert coaching, advice, and solutions on WHS matters.
  • Identify emerging WHS trends and apply innovative solutions.
  • Ensure effective WHS risk management, provide recommendations and ensure control measures are in place.
  • Foster a high-performance WHS culture through collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
  • Oversee incident management activities to prevent reoccurrence.

Deliverables include:

  • Review the current WHS development plan.
  • Assess and prioritise outcomes and develop a risk mitigation plan.
  • Develop a 12-month improvement plan and implement priority processes.
  • Produce WHS monthly Executive reporting and quarterly Risk Management reports.
  • Provide support for the Risk Management Committee.

Requirements include:

  • 5-8 years of diverse WHS experience, improving WHS knowledge, processes, and practices.
  • Ability to build credible relationships and trust quickly.
  • Expertise in risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Strong knowledge of psychosocial hazard assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse staff.
  • High emotional intelligence with a proactive approach to achieving WHS improvements.
