Lucid is a rapidly growing national engineering and asset advisory services practice. We operate across all industries using an integrated service delivery model and with a culture focused on innovation and sustainability.
The Role:
We're seeking a detail-driven and proactive professional to take ownership of end-to-end proposal development and project coordination for our Defence portfolio.
This role involves working closely with Defence leads and national stakeholders to deliver compelling EOIs, bids, and presentations that reflect our value and capability in the sector.
You'll drive the bid process - from early assessment and kick-off through to strategy, writing support, submission, and post-bid review - ensuring clarity, professionalism, and consistency every step of the way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end development of proposals, EOIs, and strategic client submissions within the Defence sector.
- Assess size, scale, value, and effort required to respond; coordinate go/no-go discussions and seek input from relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate bid kick-offs and workshops to align responsibilities, timelines, and develop winning themes.
- Prepare and manage bid timelines, register submissions in our proposal register and CRM system.
- Coordinate regular checkpoints with bid contributors to keep submissions on track and escalate if needed.
- Lead document formatting and review processes to ensure brand consistency, clarity, and professionalism.
- Work with technical leads to update CVs, gather relevant case studies, and align content with strategy.
- Support shortlisted submissions with oral pitch preparation, including PowerPoint development and rehearsals.
- Involve National Clients & Markets Lead and Bid Manager in major submissions or cross-state opportunities.
- Conduct post-submission debriefs (win/loss), share lessons learned, and contribute to continuous improvement of national bid processes.
Skills & Capabilities:
- Strong MS Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe InDesign skills.
- Excellent written communication, editing, and proofing skills.
- Project management and time-bound coordination experience.
- Experience managing stakeholder input and navigating competing priorities.
- Comfortable working with Defence bid structures and requirements.
- Familiarity with government portals and online submission systems.
Benefits:
Impact: Your work underpins decision-making and delivery across a national business.
Support: Work alongside a pragmatic, people-focused executive team.
Clarity: A well-scoped role with clear accountabilities and room to improve systems and outcomes.
Stability: A well-established Australia-owned business investing in growth, capability, and continuous improvement.
Entrepreneurial and responsive: your ideas will be heard and acted on.
