Advanced Defence Research Manager

The Centre for Advanced Defence Research in Robotics and Autonomous Systems serves as a national hub for research and development, transforming the future of defence and security operations.

Collaborating with defence priorities, this centre ensures national security outcomes that are smarter, safer, and strategically aligned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement strategic direction through contributing to oversee Program of Activities agreed by the Steering Committee.
  • Work collaboratively coordinating and managing research activities, ensuring compliance with obligations under the Agreement.
  • Engage with the broader research community to develop collaborative projects finding innovative solutions consistent with the Centre's vision and mission.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering high-level executive support functions.
  • Demonstrated experience providing management and advisory services including risk, progress, and financial reports and/or schedules.
  • Demonstrated experience managing programs to strict deadlines.
  • Research experience.
  • Able to work effectively autonomously and in a team environment under broad direction.
  • Commitment to customer service culture and significant experience in relationship management.
  • Able to bring together diverse researchers, defence and industry professionals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products and/or other IT systems complementary to the role.

This position is only open to Australian Citizens capable of obtaining a Defence Security Clearance.
