Heavy Equipment Technician

The successful candidate will perform mechanical fitting and field service work on heavy vehicles and plant equipment as required. This may involve conducting fault-finding and breakdown support to ensure minimal downtime.

Travel to sites as needed and work collaboratively with the team to maintain safety and Zero Harm standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, including trucks and diesel engines.
  • Fault-finding and breakdown support to minimize downtime.
  • Performing field service work at various locations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle or Plant Mechanic.
  • Forklift Licence is essential, while MR/HR Truck Licence is preferred.
  • Proven experience working with heavy equipment, trucks & diesel engines.
  • Strong hydraulic and auto-electrical knowledge is advantageous.
  • Excellent fault-finding and breakdown support skills are necessary.
  • Willingness to travel and perform field service work.
  • Familiarity with asphalt and earthmoving equipment (e.g. stabilisers, skid steers, loaders, pavers, spray trucks).
  • A team-first attitude and commitment to Zero Harm.
  • Flexibility for day and night shifts, with a preference for night shifts.
