About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of children and families. As a Family Support Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting children and families as they transition into school.

The Gracemere and Waraburra State Schools Cluster is seeking a dedicated individual who is passionate about helping children and families thrive in their learning journey. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with classroom teachers, teacher aides, and specialist support staff to understand the child's needs and connect families with services that support engagement with learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to identify and address the complex needs of students and families.
  • Provide support and resources to families to help them build capacity and engage with their child's learning.
  • Assist school communities in advocating for vulnerable children and families to address their needs and facilitate engagement in learning for improved outcomes.
  • Build relationships with local service providers and agencies to access support and resources for families.

What You Bring

  • A passion for working with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience working in a culturally responsive manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Knowledge of the region's demographic and local service providers and agency supports.
