About the Role

The Senior Manager Commercial Operations + Property is a key leadership position within our organization, responsible for driving excellence and inspiring creativity to deliver exceptional outcomes for both the organization and the community.

Job Description

This senior leader will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Commercial Operations + Property portfolio, delivering a return to Council to re-invest in other services across the LGA. The portfolio comprises 10 different work sites, spanning hands-on roles in Tourist Parks and Memorial Gardens & Cemeteries to office-based positions like customer service, property management, and statutory property officers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing memorial, burial, and funeral service facilities at six sites across the Local Government Area.
  • Providing beach side accommodation at three tourist parks.
  • Leading commercial leasing and licensing efforts.
  • Overseeing statutory property management.
  • Drawing up property development strategies.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to lead significant infrastructure and community projects that directly impact the lives of around 220,000 residents. You'll also have access to executive-level support, strategic leadership opportunities across multidisciplinary teams, and access to regional and national networks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A relevant degree qualification and senior-level experience in commercial operations and property management.
  • Strong strategic and operational capability across property development, leasing, statutory property, and commercial services.
  • A track record of delivering commercial returns and high-quality customer experiences.
  • Experience leading transformational programs and cultural change.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A commitment to safety, governance, and values-based leadership.
