Job Opportunity

This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead a team of professionals in the delivery of pest animal programs, travelling stock reserve management, plant biosecurity, and emergency responses across the Murray region.

About The Role
  • Develop and implement regional strategic plans for pest animals and high-priority weeds in the Murray region, ensuring effective coordination with other teams and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the operational delivery of core services, working closely with landholders and communities to achieve agricultural productivity, biosecurity, natural resource management, and emergency response objectives.

The successful applicant will be a customer-focused leader with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to drive change and inspire direction and purpose in their team.

Key Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a discipline relevant to primary industries or equivalent experience in leadership and management of services to primary industries.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change and lead teams towards effective, innovative outcomes.
  • Proven experience in program-level strategy development, operational planning, and budget management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the economic and environmental impacts of pest animals and weeds on land use.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills to support delivery of biosecurity and invasive species control programs.

Applicants must have a valid NSW Class C Driver's Licence and the ability and willingness to travel throughout the region. A current NSW firearms licence and Statement of Attainment in the safe and humane use of firearms are also required.
