Job Title: Senior Invasive Species ManagerAre you a results-driven leader with a passion for invasive species management? We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our team in delivering effective solutions for pest animal and weed control.About The Role

This is a full-time position based in the Murray region, NSW. As Senior Invasive Species Manager, you will oversee a team of biosecurity professionals in delivering key programs, including pest animal management, travelling stock reserve management, and plant biosecurity.


Main Responsibilities

The role requires strategic planning, leadership, and stakeholder engagement to drive effective outcomes for invasive species control and plant health. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing regional strategic plans for pest animals and high-priority weeds
  • Engaging and managing a geographically dispersed team to implement pest animal, TSR work, and weed control programs
  • Applying continuous improvement strategies to drive innovation and change into control programs

About You

We are looking for a customer-focused leader who can inspire direction and purpose in their team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in leadership and management of services to primary industries
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change and lead teams towards effective, innovative outcomes
  • Proven experience in program-level strategy development, operational planning, and budget management
  • Demonstrated understanding of the economic and environmental impacts of pest animals and weeds on land use
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
