Job Title:

Invasive Species Management Lead

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of biosecurity professionals in the operational delivery of pest animal programs and travelling stock reserve management.
  • Develop and implement regional strategic plans for pest animals and high-priority weeds.
  • Engage with landholders and other stakeholders to implement pest animal, TSR work, and weed control programs.
  • Apply continual improvement strategies to drive innovation and change into control programs.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in leadership and management.
  • Strong leadership skills to drive change and lead teams towards effective outcomes.
  • Proven experience in program-level strategy development, operational planning, and budget management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of economic and environmental impacts of pest animals and weeds on land use.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Appropriate qualifications and experience relevant to pesticide application.
  • Eligibility to hold a NSW firearms licence and Statement of Attainment in safe and humane firearm use.
  • Ability to become an Authorised Officer under the Biosecurity Act 2015.
