Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Invasive Species and Plant Health unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to control invasive species and protect native biodiversity.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to control invasive species and protect native biodiversity
  • Lead a team of biosecurity professionals in the operational delivery of pest animal programs
  • Engage with stakeholders to develop regional strategic plans for pest animals and high-priority weeds
  • Implement continual improvement strategies to drive innovation and change into control programs
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:


Key Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in leadership and management
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change and lead teams towards effective outcomes
  • Proven experience in program-level strategy development, operational planning, and budget management
  • Demonstrated understanding of the economic and environmental impacts of pest animals and weeds on land use
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
